Culvert Design

One of the alternatives Aqua Tech is considering for the drainage area of the linear park is a culvert throughout the whole channel with a bike/walk path on top of it.  Box culverts are a very popular solution to transport water throughout a short runoff period.  There are several types of culvert designs and here are a few options that would be feasible for this project.

Single Cell Culvert

Double Cell Culvert

  • Two flow channels

  • Larger channels

  • Larger loads

  • Better for maintenance

  • Allows for more flow

Concrete

  • Precast or cast in place
